Twenty Years of Access.
One Singular Purpose.

Founded in Ontario, Canada in 2006 and now operating from five global offices, Maingate Corporation was built on a conviction that still drives everything we do: that the right relationships, in the right markets, at the right moment, change the trajectory of businesses and nations alike.

Our Foundation

Built in Canada. Proven Across the World.

Maingate Corporation — formerly Merican Group — was founded in Ontario, Canada in 2006 by two partners who shared an uncommon conviction: that the most consequential commercial opportunities of the coming decades would not be in the mature markets of the West, but in the rapidly modernising economies of the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.

That conviction proved correct. Over the two decades that followed, we built one of the most trusted and respected advisory networks operating between the international business community and the governments, institutions, and private enterprises driving transformation across the MENA region — with Saudi Arabia at the centre of everything we do.

We established operations in Riyadh to anchor our presence in the Kingdom's most critical market. We opened in Hong Kong to bridge the extraordinary commercial relationship between East Asia and the Gulf. We expanded to Istanbul to serve the Turkish and wider regional market, and to Cairo to deepen our reach across North Africa. Our Canadian headquarters has remained our legal and strategic home throughout.

In 2026, to reflect the global scope and ambition of what we have built, Merican Group was formally rebranded as Maingate Corporation — a name that speaks to what we do: we open the gate to the world's most consequential markets for the clients who trust us to lead the way.

A New Name. The Same Commitment.

Maingate Corporation

After twenty years of building, the name Merican Group no longer fully captured the scope, ambition, and global reach of what we had become. In 2026, we made the decision to rebrand as Maingate Corporation.

The name is intentional. A maingate is where access is granted — or denied. It is the threshold between the outside world and what lies within. For the clients we serve, Maingate Corporation is precisely that: the trusted partner who holds the key to markets, relationships, and opportunities that others cannot reach.

Nothing else has changed. Our co-founders lead the firm. Our offices remain. Our partnerships continue. Our commitment to in-country presence, relationship-driven advisory, and long-term client success is as strong as it has ever been. The new name simply tells the world more accurately who we are and what we do.

Our Journey

Two Decades of Building What Matters

Maingate Corporation — then Merican Group — is established by co-founders Yousef Noel and Mustafa Kilic with a founding mandate: to serve as the definitive bridge between international enterprise and the transforming economies of the MENA region. Canada provides the legal and governance foundation. The world is the ambition.

Recognising the explosive growth of Asian capital flowing into the Gulf, we establish our Hong Kong office — a strategic foothold in the world's most dynamic financial corridor. The presence anchors our engagement with mainland Chinese state-owned enterprises, Hong Kong-based investors, and the wider Asia-Pacific business community pursuing opportunities across the MENA region.

We open our Istanbul office to anchor operations across Türkiye and the broader Eurasian gateway. Co-founder Mustafa Kilic, a member of the Turkish Bar Association from a distinguished family of legal professionals, leads our Istanbul presence — connecting Turkish industrial, construction, and energy groups to opportunities across the Kingdom.

The launch of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 validates a decade of relationship-building and strategic positioning. The Kingdom's commitment to economic diversification, private sector development, and foreign investment places our capabilities precisely where the greatest commercial activity will unfold. Our project pipeline, partner base, and advisory mandate expand dramatically.

Our Riyadh office is formally established as the operational heart of the firm — the most consequential decision in our history. Saudi Arabia is identified as the primary theatre for our work, and co-founder Yousef Noel takes up permanent residence to lead in-Kingdom operations. Relationships with Saudi government ministries, Vision 2030 programme offices, and the Kingdom's leading private sector institutions deepen substantially.

North Africa represents a critical frontier — both as a market in its own right and as a gateway to the broader African continent. Our Cairo office, led by Regional Director Walid Abdelaty, extends our reach across Egypt, Libya, Sudan, and the wider North African corridor.

After two decades of growth, with a global network spanning five cities, nine sectors, and 28+ world-class partners, the firm rebrands as Maingate Corporation — a name that more accurately reflects the scope of our access, the quality of our relationships, and the ambition that has defined us since 2006. The same people. The same values. A name the world can remember.

Our Global Presence

Five Offices. One Coordinated Strategy.

Maingate operates from five strategic nodes — each chosen because it sits at the institutional level of a bilateral commercial corridor that matters to Saudi Arabia. Riyadh is the centre of gravity. Ontario, Hong Kong, Istanbul, and Cairo each operate a corridor of capital, capability, or both. The five offices are not a geographic footprint. They are a coordinated operating model.

CANADA

Ontario, Canada

Headquarters · Founding Node · Est. 2006

Maingate's founding home, legal headquarters, and the operational anchor of the Canada-Saudi corridor — currently the most operationally addressable bilateral flow given the federal export capacity, fiscal year decision cycle, and political alignment under the Carney government's trade diversification agenda. Ontario operates the Canadian capital and capability node under Regional Director Cecil Bain, and supports North American and European client engagement.

KSA

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Centre of Gravity · KSA

The institutional anchor of everything Maingate does. Led by CEO and co-founder Yousef Noel, the Riyadh office holds the direct relationships with Saudi government ministries, Vision 2030 programme offices, sovereign channels, and the Kingdom's most consequential private sector institutions. Every bilateral corridor terminates here. Riyadh is not one office among five — it is the institutional node the other four are coordinated around.

CHINA SAR

Hong Kong

Asia-Pacific Capital Node

Hong Kong operates Maingate's Asia-Pacific corridor — direct access to Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and broader East Asian sovereign and strategic capital actively deploying into Saudi mandates, alongside the construction, energy, and technology firms in the partner ecosystem. The Asia-Pacific rebalancing of FDI flows runs through this node.

TÜRKİYE

Istanbul

Türkiye Corridor Node

Anchored by co-founder and CLO Mustafa Kilic, Istanbul operates the Türkiye-Saudi corridor — connecting Turkish construction, defence, and industrial capability to Saudi infrastructure and giga-project mandates. Türkiye's combination of execution capability, geographic proximity, and strategic relationship with Riyadh makes this one of the most operationally addressable capability corridors for Vision 2030 delivery.

EGYPT

Cairo

North Africa Corridor Node

Led by Regional Director Walid Abdelaty, the Cairo office operates the North Africa corridor — covering Egyptian and broader North African capability sources, the Arab League commercial agenda, and structured engagement between Saudi sovereign mandates and North African industrial, agricultural, and infrastructure capacity.

Executive Leadership

The Team That Opens Every Door

"The quality of an advisory firm is ultimately the quality of its people. At Maingate, every leader brings something irreplaceable: access, expertise, and a personal commitment to outcomes that no organisation chart can manufacture."

Our executive team spans four countries and brings together backgrounds in law, finance, strategy, regional diplomacy, and in-country commercial operations. They are not administrators — they are the frontline of every relationship we maintain on behalf of our clients.

Co-Founded in 2006 — Still Leading Today

Maingate Corporation was co-founded by Yousef Noel and Mustafa Kilic, who continue to lead the firm as CEO and CLO respectively — a continuity of leadership and vision that is rare in global advisory and a direct source of the trust our clients place in us.

Yousef Noel is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Maingate Corporation, the firm he established alongside Mustafa Kilic in Ontario, Canada in 2006. Over two decades, Yousef has built one of the most consequential private-sector networks operating between the international business community and Saudi Arabia's government, institutional, and private sector leadership. His relationships span key ministries, Vision 2030 programme authorities, sovereign investment vehicles, and the private conglomerates that shape commercial activity across the Kingdom. He is received at the highest levels of Saudi public and private life — a trust earned through twenty years of consistent presence, cultural respect, and an unwavering record of delivering for the parties he represents.

Under Yousef's leadership, Maingate Corporation has facilitated some of the region's most significant cross-border commercial relationships, grown to a five-office global network, and positioned itself as the advisory partner of choice for global enterprises seeking meaningful, lasting access to Saudi Arabia's most valuable opportunities.

Our Values

What Maingate Stands For

Access With Integrity

We open doors — but only for clients and through relationships we are prepared to stand behind personally. Our access is a product of twenty years of integrity. We protect it absolutely.

Precision Over Volume

We make fewer introductions than most of our competitors. Each one is right. We believe one perfect partnership delivers more value than a hundred imperfect ones — for every party involved.

Cultural Intelligence

Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, China — each market rewards those who understand it and penalises those who don't. Our team does not approximate cultural fluency. They live it.

Long-Term Thinking

We were founded on patience and built on consistency. Our model rewards long-term outcomes, not short-term transactions. Our longest client relationships span more than a decade. That is not coincidence.

The Right Partner
for This Moment

If you are a global enterprise seeking credible, meaningful, and sustainable access to Saudi Arabia and the MENA region — Maingate Corporation was built for exactly this.
